Newcrest has agreed a joint venture with Land Securities to develop the local retail provision of one of the first modern garden cites. Some 7,250 homes are planned in the immediate vicinity, with approximately 3,000 plots already sold. Planning is being submitted for a convenience store, five further shops and 56 residential units above. In addition, a pub/hotel and a medical centre will be planned in phase two. Construction is programmed to commence in late 2017.
